QR4QR is built with privacy as the core principle. We believe in minimal data collection and maximum user privacy. This isn't just a policy—it's our architecture.

2. Information We DON'T Collect

Unlike most platforms, we do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
• Chat messages or conversation content
• Location data beyond what's needed for connection
• Browsing history or usage patterns
• Device identifiers or fingerprints
• IP addresses (we don't log them)

3. How Chat Works

All conversations use WebRTC peer-to-peer technology. This means your messages travel directly between devices and never pass through our servers. We technically cannot read, store, or access your conversations even if we wanted to.

4. Signaling Data

We use Firebase Realtime Database only for initial connection signaling (WebRTC handshake). This data is:

• Encrypted in transit (TLS)
• Automatically deleted within seconds after connection is established
• Never contains message content
• Only contains temporary connection data (SDP/ICE)

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the website to function. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Third-Party Services

We use Firebase for signaling. Google STUN servers help establish peer-to-peer connections. These services don't receive your chat content.

7. Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to delete, export, or modify. You're anonymous by default. You have the right to:

• Use the service without providing any personal information
• End any conversation at any time

By accessing or using QR4QR, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use QR4QR, or between 13-17 years old with parental/guardian consent. We do not knowingly allow users under 13.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use QR4QR for:

• Illegal activities of any kind
• Harassment, bullying, or threatening others
• Sharing illegal content, including CSAM
• Attempting to identify, doxx, or stalk other users
• Spam, scams, phishing, or commercial solicitation
• Impersonation or fraud
• Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Hate speech or discrimination
• Promoting violence or self-harm
• Any activity that violates local, national, or international laws

4. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your conversations and any information you choose to share. Do not share:

• Personal identifying information
• Financial information (credit cards, bank accounts)
• Passwords or login credentials
• Sensitive personal details

5. No Warranty

QR4QR is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uptime, availability, or that the service will meet your expectations.

6. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for any conversations, content shared, or actions taken by users. You use QR4QR at your own risk. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to block access to QR4QR for any violation of these terms. Given our privacy-first design, this may involve blocking at the network level.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable international laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration.

Third Party Services

What is QR4QR?

QR4QR is an anonymous chat platform that connects people through QR codes. Create a chat request, share your QR code, and someone can scan it with our app to start a private, encrypted conversation.

Do I need an account?

No. QR4QR requires no signup, no email, no phone number, no personal information. Complete anonymity from the start.

Are my messages private?

Yes. All messages use WebRTC peer-to-peer encryption (DTLS-SRTP). Messages travel directly between devices and never pass through our servers. We cannot read your messages.

Why do I need the mobile app?

The QR4QR mobile app is required to scan QR codes and establish the peer-to-peer connection. The website is for creating requests and displaying QR codes. The app handles the actual connection.

Is it completely free?

Yes, QR4QR is completely free. No premium features, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads. We may introduce optional features in the future but core functionality will always be free.

What happens to my data after chat?

Nothing is stored. Chat rooms are deleted from the signaling server immediately after connection. Messages never touch our servers. When chat ends, all data disappears completely.

Can I report someone?

Yes, you can report abuse to [email protected]. However, due to our privacy-first design, we cannot access conversation content or identify users. Reports help us improve our systems.

What if connection fails?

WebRTC connections depend on network conditions. We include STUN and TURN servers for better connectivity. If connection fails, try: checking your internet, disabling VPN temporarily, or using a different network.

Can people find me randomly?

No. There is no random matching on QR4QR. You create a request and share your QR code. Only someone with your QR code or room code can connect with you. You're always in control.

Is QR4QR open source?

We're considering open-sourcing parts of the platform. Follow our social media for updates.

Stay Safe While Chatting

While QR4QR provides anonymous, encrypted communication, please follow these safety guidelines:

• Don't share photos that could identify you
• Use a VPN if you want additional privacy

• Never share credit card or bank information
• Don't send money to anyone you meet

• If something feels wrong, end the chat
• Don't meet anyone in person from anonymous chats

• Block and move on from uncomfortable conversations

We collect virtually no personal data. No accounts, no profiles, no message storage. This is the ultimate form of data minimization.

Since we don't store personal data, there's nothing to forget. Your anonymity is built into our architecture.

We can't provide data exports because we don't have your data. Your conversations are peer-to-peer and we never see them.
